Yes, I had noticed that; it was one of those eerie coincidences where life imitates art.

Speaking of ages, it is intersting to compare the actors real ages to the characters they play. In Treasure Island, Sen Yung was a bit older than 20 in real life. In Monte Carlo, Keye Luke was certainly well past his 25th birthday. However Warner Oland never reached his 60th birthday as Charlie did in Shanghai.

If you do the math there, and if Lee is his first born son, Charlie started having kids at age 35 or so. That's not unusual in today's world but in the early 1900s that's late to start a family and the fact he had over a dozen more suggests that he married someone quite a bit younger.

Maybe Charlie was trying to avoid a mandatory retirement age in Honolulu.
