PLEASE NOTE: On August 6, Warner Brothers Home Video is releasing a 4-disc DVD set titled Charlie Chan Collection. This follows Warner's 2010 release (also called Charlie Chan Collection) of four other Monogram Pictures Chan films. The new collection will feature four more Monogram Chan pictures: Shadows Over Chinatown, Docks of New Orleans, The Shanghai Chest, and The Golden Eye. This long-anticipated release will retail for $39.92, but can currently be pre-ordered from Amazon.com for $28.79 (with free postage/handling).
It is expected that this collection of DVDs will provide Chan fans with the highest quality versions of the four above-mentioned films available. Warner Brothers will be releasing these films due to the high sales numbers for the previous Chan collection, and, it can be reasonably assumed that should sales of the new "Charlie Chan Collection" justify it that the final three Chan films in the Warner vault, "The Sky Dragon," "The Feathered Serpent," and "The Red Dragon" (plus a possible fourth film, "The Black Camel," which WB holds the rights to, as well, will follow at some point!
