Sorry to say that it looks like I may be missing Monday chats. TheChatroom seems to require that my Mac computer do a Java update, but the download info says that it will make my all my computer data visible to the Java folks… a price I'm not comfortable with… especially after the Target stores hacking that caused us to have to get new Bankcards here.
I'll try to drop in from time to time if it lets me, but otherwise will try to at least stay in touch with visits to the website.

Len brings up an important issue of concern: The security of the Charlie Chan Family Home Chat Room on Monday nights. How secure is it?
Like Len, I use a Mac computer when I join the conversations at the Chat Room. In order to sign in at the Chat Room, I have to activate (turn on) the JAVA function on my computer. It never used to be that way. Something has changed with the JAVA function during the past few months.
In my humble opinion, this issue needs to be investigated. As the host of the Monday chats, and the owner of this website, it is your responsibility to provide members with a secure chat room. You may consider contacting the support team associated with the foundation of the Charlie Chan Family Home website.
At your convenience, please feel free to share security information with Chan family members.
I understand. I have not updated yet, and, if you have not, you may be able to "escape" that for the time being. Sorry to hear that that is what java has planned for us...
I think that the Java issue has been repaired. When you arrive at our Chat Room, you should see three choices available from which you mat choose the one you feel safest with.
