Re: The Reckless Age 1924 Found Earl Derr Biggers Film

Robert B, nice find--does give one hope. I saw from the IMDb website that this film is based on his novel "Love Insurance" (1914), which became a hit on the stage. I read that right here on Rush's nifty-keen, everything Chan website; in the STUDY (Biggers, Earl D./2d to last entry). It's within Barbara Gregorich's article, "Charlie Chan's Poppa: The life of E.D.B" I have read Love Insurance once (somewhere online I believe). It's basically about an Earl or someone gent with money, who hires Lloyds of London to insure his love for a fair maiden against a heartbreak--or something along those lines.

Thank a heap Robert B. I knew there were other Bigger's novels a plenty, but not other movies! Looks like further investigation is called for!

Ciao Lou

Thank you. They found other films too, even a lost Oliver Hardy film from 1920 called the Backyard. The silent Chan's could exist too.

Dear Robert,

Indeed this does open the door of hope, if only a tiny bit! Thank you for sharing this.

Sincerely,
