Re: Our Monday Evening Chat/Film Viewing: "Shadows Over Chinatown"

Anyone ever hear of "Elliot Ness and the Torso Murders" here in Cleveland, Ohio? There's a huge section of Cleveland's police museum dedicated to this crime! Known locally as "The Kingsbury Run Murders", from 1934-1938, 12 torso victims were discovered; a crime that plagued then city Safety Director, Elliott Ness. Eventually, a man confessed, but no one believed he did it, and he was beaten and found hanged in his cell. The timing is relatively close enough to make it the idea for this weeks movie (1946)?

Wow!

I don't remember finding out about the case before although I had heard about it. That's one interesting article.

Thanks, Lou!
