A coupla weeks ago, one of my under-30 colleagues approached me singing the praises of a "Saint" film he'd seen on TCM, I guess. Knowing my movie interests, he asked me to lend him some other 1940s detective or crime flicks. I gave him "The Scarlet Clue," "Castle in the Desert" and "The Jade Mask." I tossed in a Dick Tracy and Falcon. He returned them singing the praises of the Chans (he'd never heard of the character)and planned on ordering a box set. Another convert!
GREAT to hear from you, and GREAT news you give us! You are certainly a topflight Charlie Chan ambassador! Thank you so much, and as Mr. Chan stated in "Charlie Chan's Chance": "One at time is good fishing."
I've worked Monday nights for more years than I care to say, so I've always missed out on the chats. But beginning in maybe 3 weeks, I'll start working bankers' hours and may finally be able to join a chat or two.
Jamison, I know what you mean. I have worked evening shift and night shift for the past 20 years, and miss out on many activities, including the Monday Chan Chats. I may retire next summer, so I too will be able to start enjoying the Monday get-togethers!
