CRYSTAL ANNIVERSARY

Rush, if you need any more appreciation let me give you all of mine. I've only a few minutes here & that may be sufficient for you to hear somebody say thank you, but i want to color & shade my appreciation by letting all our Chan Family know i'm not UNacquainted, but am surely not WELL acquainted with the Chan Story and all the stories within---and MORE important are the NEW CHARACTERS NOW ENTERED: each of YOU Modern Family Members. We've all just finished viewing CC At The Olympics, & you online contributed decisively to my understanding of the film and things beyond the film; ALSO to my understanding of each of you. I discovered our site by accident/coincidence, and it was after enjoying exploring the site (you get a Honolulu Police Medal for the site, Rush, or you should) i determined to follow up this group-viewing notion. That was 5 or 6 weeks ago, not sure how long but i've enjoyed you all so much that i haven't missed a week since starting. You all have added so much to my life, not only in the sharing of the legends of our hero but in displays of humor & intelligence when gathering AND stick-to-it-iveness IN gathering. I have a bit of challenge in my life, a partial disability that's forced me from the work world sooner than i'd have liked and in practical fact broken up & smashed my personal world & relations with everything else. I've lost most of the regularities of my life (which i felt tiresome, as most of us do in considering our lives at random moments, but which i'd now give anything to have back)---the weekly gathering of the Chan Clan gives me something great in which i feel welcomed & special but also equal in membership with a happy fraternity (/sorority!) dedicated to goodness & niceness only---a refuge from a world flying warp-speed away otherwise---in appreciation of a wonderful canon of stories, people & pictures from a simple, better life. You each make my Mondays special & i thank each of you while thanking RUSH especially for starting this Joy Luck Club & doing the mountains of tasks this website evidences. May you each have long prosperous life and give honor to ancestors and examples to young. When final history is written, may Peking duck as Honolulu stands tall to receive laurel wreath from Muse of Myth & Mayhem.
Congrats---thanks---keep it up!

Re: CRYSTAL ANNIVERSARY

Hi, Angel. I often check in to read to posts on this site, and on the Charlie Chan Message Board, which is another similar site. I seldom post any messages, but in the past I have posted inquiries about something you mention in your posting. You said that you found this site by "accident", and I remember that the same thing happened to me about 20 years ago when I found the Charlie Chan Message Board site. I had won a Chan lobby card on eBay, and the eBay item had a link to the Charlie Chan Message Board. I followed the link, and have been a "regular" reader of that site ever since.

My question is: How much promotion happens concerning this site, or the other Chan sites? When Chan items are placed on eBay, there seems to be a lot of bidding, so there are Chan fans out there. We need to reach them. To keep these Boards going, we need an influx of new people, and if we thought of ways to promote these sites there might be more activity, and an increase in interesting conversations. I don't mind discussing "old" topics again if there are new people adding new insight.

Re: CRYSTAL ANNIVERSARY

Dear John,

Great to hear from you! I, and I know so many others, agree with your thoughts! It is so interesting to hear how new members find out about this particular site, often by "accident." Any ideas regarding promotion of this and other sites are, of course, welcomed.

Take care, and thank you once again, sir!

Sincerely,
Rush

Re: CRYSTAL ANNIVERSARY

Dear Angel,

First, my apology for the length of time it has taken to reply to your kind post. Most of my energy and computer time has been focused with the roller derby tournament that we held yesterday!

Now, most importantly, thank you so very much for the kind words! MUCH appreciated! I am touched, truly, in how we have all added as a humble group toward your having a much-needed diversion to look forward to each week. Your dedication to all things Chan and your weekly presence and good natured spirit at our Weekly Chats contribute greatly to all involved!

Thank you, again, Angel!

Sincerely,
Rush
