The connection between these 2 series seem quite extraordinary. First the obvious, Keye Luke played both number 1 son and Kato. Then of course as been mentioned here Bruce Lee did a screen test to play number 1 son in a new Charlie Chan series, which I think would have been pretty good. Legend has it this show actually became the Green Hornet but actually it became Batman!
Also for the icing on the cake, Norman Foster who directed what many consider to be the best Chan film(among other good Chan films) Treasure Island, also directed the clear best Green Hornet episode The Praying Mantis. From the "I bet you didnt know this" category
