Accu-Chek Comfort Curve & Accu-Chek Advantage Blood Glucose Test Strips--Potential for wrong results due to loose drying agent beads in vials.
In some vials of these test strips the drying agent beand which are normally located in the vial's cap, have become loose and have fallen into the vial. The drying agent beads keep the test strips protected from moisture. If these loose drying agent beads are discarded, the strips are no longer protected from moisture, possibly leading to a wrong result.
TEST RESULTS MAY BE ERRONEOUSLY HIGH (UP TO 250 mg/dL ABOVE THE TRUE VALUE) OR LOW.
All Accu-Check Confort Curve & Advantage strips with an expiration date on or before July 31, 2007 are potentially affected by this issue. If you open a vial and see loose drying agent beads, do not use the strips. Contact Accu-Check Customer Service at 1-800-858-8072 for replacement.
