Has anyone checked on what the impact of the increases boating/fishing/jetski use will have on Lake Simon? Each year there seems to be an increase in the use of recreational usage of the area and there has to be an impact.

During our meeting Thursday with LA Associates, there was a great deal of discussion on this topic. LA Associates used the 1990 census data to extrapolate the current and expected boat traffic on the lake. One of the summer residents demonstrated that this study is basically flawed since the 1990 study was adjusted to current year figures based on the number of boat registrations in the area. The summer resident indicated that he and many others register their boat in their home state so that they can get insurance on it along with their current policies. That would indicate that there are more boats on Tupper than the LA Groups estimates.
