Is it just me or does it seem that the Free Press editor Dan McClellan might be just a little biased? In recent weeks I have seen in his editorials ( I know it is just his opinion) his comments on everything in favor of the Project, and how great it is going to be, however I haven't seen anything negative about it from him. It seems that some of the people who are in favor of this project stand to gain some substantial financial gains with their private bussiness, at the expense of the rest of the town. Dan has often spoke about different things that he has little or no knowledge of. (His recent comment reguarding state employees not appreciating their good state jobs)

Dave, Not to sound sarcastic but Did you just notice that? Dan has been extremely biased) in favor of this project) since day one. He attended the Skier pep rallies when the project was first announced and ran around like a kid at Christmas.
During the first year or so of watching the project we posted articles from the free press. Then it quickly became clear that Dan was pushing his own opinion and not reporting objectively so we stopped posting TFLP articles. Wow, just went back and looked - that was back in January of 2006 - have we been at this that long? A a side note, that is when Foxman stopped talking to us saying that we were biased by not posting TLFP articles. We had a good laugh about that!
I know that several people have spoken to Dan about this and have threatened to cancel subscriptions or advertisements. Since then he has toned it down a bit but still shows his true colors. We will have to see how he does through the mediation process where the Judge is going to have him sign a confidentiality agreement. Notice in this weeks TLFP he did a very long article trying to get in every last word while he can.

No this isn't the first I have noticed that good old Dan has published "his opinion" but has been on the push for this project from the beginning, and why not. The increased advertising,leagle notices, pro and con ads, etc all bring income to his pocket. There seems to be a few people in positions that should be representing the whole of Tupper Lake that stand to gain financially by having this project go. People need to stand up and take notice before we all get sold down the river.
