We thought that this hotly-debated topic would benefit from a place on the web - a place to hear all sides of this important and quickly-expanding aspect of food provision.
Finally, it seems that organic reared fish might become real in Denmark. Four freshwater fish farms have been certified according to Danish regulations for 1) organic aquaculture and 2) fish feed for organic aquaculture, and are by now producing organic trout. Portion size organic reared fish are expected in late summer, 2005.
Results from a three year project period, during which conversion took place, has recently been published in a report from Danish Institute for Fisheries Research (DIFRES).

I must first congratulate you on your moves towards organic aquaculture systems as I am extremely encouraged by these events in Denmark.
I would appreciate a copy of the organic aquaculture standards that you have developed. Please advise.

Thanks! At the moment official English version of the standards do not exist. I have attached an earlier translated version of the working document directly to you – on the understanding that it is not a document that can be cited directly.
Please don't hesitate if you require further clarification.
