Architectural/Graphics Department Assistant

This support position is an integral part of our dynamic 20-person architectural and graphics department (visit http://www.cummingsproperties.com/design.htm to learn more about this special team). The position provides support to design team members producing architecture, sign, graphic, and media projects.

Applicant should have administrative skills, be digitally savvy, and have experience working in a graphic design, architecture, or construction environment. This fast-paced position requires accurate technical proficiency, a professional attitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.

Specific job responsibilities:

• Prepare vinyl signage files and submit to vendors.
• Bid and purchase supplies, large-scale graphics, print materials, and signs.
• Upload web files, perform basic text edits in HTML.
• Adobe Creative Suite or AutoCAD experience is a plus.
• Help manage large format printing, color copier, and scanner systems.
• Initiate work orders, purchase orders, and service calls.
• Maintain and improve Design Department administrative systems.
• Update databases and spreadsheet reports to keep projects on track.
• Prepare and edit Word and Excel documents.
• Maintain digital and physical project filing systems.
• Track department schedules including appointments, holidays, vacations, etc.
• Plan department team-building, social, and educational events.
