Human Resources Assistant – 20-25 hours/week

We are looking for a part-time human resources assistant. This is an ideal opportunity for an individual to gain exposure to every HR discipline while providing administrative support to our day-to-day human resources operations. Among the primary areas of responsibility:
• Handle employment application intake and on boarding.
• Schedule pre-employment screenings and background checks.
• Perform HRIS, payroll, and benefits data entry.
• Maintain personnel records and other confidential files.
• Respond to reference checks and verifications of employment status.
• Assist with benefits administration, including online enrollments, changes, and terminations.
• Provide backup support for payroll administration and reporting.
• Support members of the HR team by assisting with various projects.
You are a quick learner with the ability to absorb information easily in a fast-paced environment. With at least one year of HR experience, and preferably an HR degree or certification, you can demonstrate proficiency in:

• Prioritizing and managing multiple projects with competing deadlines
• Understanding basic Human Resources concepts, language, and ideas
• Maintaining an awareness of federal, state, and local employment laws
• Communicating clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing
• Maintaining a high degree of confidentiality
• Using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
