People in Sierra Leone speak the English language. The linguistic diversity of Sierra Leone is very diverse according to a fractionalization scale which for Sierra Leone is 0.7634. The followers of Islam are the religious majority in the country. 39.2% of Sierra Leone's population live in cities. This percentage comprises the urban population of Sierra Leone. The rate of urbanization in Sierra Leone is considered to be 2.9. According to data on inbound tourists in Sierra Leone, 81,000 tourists arrive in the country each year.

National anthem
The national anthem of Sierra Leone is called 'High We Exalt Thee, Realm of the Free'. It was adopted in 1961. The lyrics have been written by Clifford Nelson Fyle and the music has been composed by John Akar.

Around 7% of the population of Sierra Leone are obese.

Alcohol consumption
Each year, the people of Sierra Leone consume 2 litre of alcohol per capita, and this volume consists of 6.4% beer, 0.6% wine, 0.7% distilled spirits, 92.3% other alcohol.

National dish
One of the most popular national dishes of Sierra Leone is red palm oil vegetable stew.
