Culture of Armenia

People in Armenia speak the Armenian language. The linguistic diversity of Armenia is vaguely diverse according to a fractionalization scale which for Armenia is 0.1291. The followers of Christianity are the religious majority in the country. 64.1% of Armenia's population live in cities. This percentage comprises the urban population of Armenia. The rate of urbanization in Armenia is considered to be -0.3. The negative rate of urbanization in Armenia indicates a lack of economic strength and stability in that nation’s cities. This could indicate that investment in this nation’s industries is a gamble; decreasing urbanization could result in a lack of labor for large business projects. According to data on inbound tourists in Armenia, 1,084,000 tourists arrive in the country each year.

National anthem
The national anthem of Armenia is called 'Mer Hayrenik', which in English means 'Our Fatherland'. It was adopted in 1918. The lyrics have been written by Mikael Nalbandian and the music has been composed by Barsegh Kanachyan.

Around 24% of the population of Armenia are obese.

Alcohol consumption
Each year, the people of Armenia consume 1.5 litre of alcohol per capita, and this volume consists of 9.7% beer, 5.4% wine, 84.9% distilled spirits, 0% other alcohol.
