It's approx 10km in Sefton Park and is part of the L&D series, and also the British Athletics Cross Challenge.
It's a great event with unique atmosphere and always attracts a large and high quality field (it's the GB qualifier for the European XC Champs Squad and lots of club runners of all standards travel from around the UK to get involved too). All right on our doorstep!
We had a good turn out last year - be good to have even more Striders racing this year.
Andy - please count me in for this if you can sort the entries. Let me know if you need anything from me.
I'm usually fine for this one.. running hopefully too ;D
Bring the family along, to actually see the fastest runners in the country battling each other...
Famously Paula Ratcliffe, Mo Farah and Andy Vernon all ran at Sefton park in the past.. cross country truly is the bee's knees!
The Senior Mens Race (9.8k at 2.00pm) incorporates the L&D fixture and my recollection is that our members (both men and women because L&D have joint races) get free or cheap entry. Alternatively our women could be entered in the Senior Womens race (8.1k at 1.15pm) where our womens teams would get a chance to race against other local, regional and national womens teams.

British Cross Challenge/L&D race tomorrow at Sefton Park.
Women's race - 1.15pm
Men's race - 2.05pm
I'll be collecting numbers at about 12, then the numbers can be collected from myself and Colin prior to the race. We will have our tent and sail flags up on the field so please arrive promptly to get numbers, etc.
More details including the course map and the starting list can be found here - http://www.britishathletics.org.uk/competitions/the-british-athletics-cross-challenge/ (check out the competition! 😉)
Forecast is looking cold and hopefully the races before the senior races will churn the course up nicely for us, bringing together all the elements necessary for a class cross country race!
