Marathon training

Anybody interested in meeting up on Sunday mornings for some marathon training over the next few months? These will be ideal for anybody aiming to run sub 3hrs in the marathon or faster.

Starting this Sunday 8 January. Meet at the iron bridge, Sefton Park for 8am.

Pace will be easy - around 7:30/mile. Aim is to build general fitness and endurance. Distances are approx. I'm planning some tempo runs at marathon effort too too but will run those on Saturdays or during the week.

My Sunday plans are:

Jan 8 - 18 miles
Jan 15 - 18 miles
Jan 22 - XC race at Runcorn
Jan 29 - 20 miles
Feb 5 - 20 miles
Feb 12 - 22 miles
Feb 19 - XC race at Birchwood
Feb 26 - 22 miles
Mar 5 - 22 miles
Mar 12 - 24 miles

This leaves a 3 week taper for the Manchester marathon on 2 April.
If anybody wants to join for just a part of the run, or to run further, we can figure out a route on the day to accommodate that. Always good to have some company!

I'm with you matey, can't guarantee to be at every session but I'll try my best, as always.
Also my aim is running ultras, so I'll be right at the back of the pack, eating dust you leave behind

Slight change of plan for Sunday 5 Feb - will now be doing an L&D XC race at Clarke Gardens, so won't be out for a 20 mile training run that day now.
