Re: Merseyside Grand Prix 2017

Is it 5 races again this year to qualify, Helen?

Re: Merseyside Grand Prix 2017

Hi Jo - sorry only just seen this. Yes for the individual prizes it's best 5 to count; for the team prize it's best 6 results.

The results from the first Merseyside GP race are on the website now - http://merseysidecountyaa.org.uk/road-running/road-running-grand-prix/

The next race is The Spring 10k at Sefton Park on Sunday 7th May. We always have a great turn out for this race so it's a great one to do for the atmosphere and support. You can enter the race here: http://www.merseyraces.co.uk/

The next race in the GP after that is the Walton Hall Park 5 miler on Tuesday 16th May - this one often sells out so get your entries in to avoid disappointment. https://www.riderhq.com/events/71991/lrc-walton-5-mile-road-race/116290/5-mile-road-race/enter

Re: Merseyside Grand Prix 2017

Bumping this back up!

The next race in the Merseyside Grand Prix is tonight (no entries on the evening or transfers available) at the Walton Park 5 mile race. Good luck to everyone racing,

After that, there's the Birkenhead Park Road Race on Wednesday 7th June. http://www.wirralac.co.uk/competitionsbirkenhead-park-road-races/

The Grand Prix is for EVERYONE - there are individual points up for grabs too. All you need to do to count is be a first claim members and enter the races in the Grand Prix as a Penny Lane member. The points are distributed via gun time, not chip time. Full rules are available here - http://merseysidecountyaa.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/MCRRGP-2017-Rules.doc

Re: Merseyside Grand Prix 2017

Team and individual results for the Merseyside Grand Prix are now on the Merseyside County AA website - after 3 races both the women's and men's teams are in first place!

The Grand Prix team prizes are awarded based on the best 6 scores out of 10 races. It's still early days yet but we've had some really strong results so far and with 7 races left hopefully we can increase our lead! (Individual prizes are based on best 5 scores)

The next race in the Grand Prix is the Birkenhead 5 Mile race which is a week today on Wednesday 7th June. You can enter online this year http://wirralac.niftyentries.com/Birkenhead-Park-5

Also just a reminder on some of the Grand Prix rules -
1. GP is only open to first claim members,
2. where a runner changes first claim club during the GP series all their results count in the Individual Standings, but only results for original first claim club count in Team Standings
3. No swaps of race numbers allowed (except where race organiser specifically allows swaps and changes runners name before the race so that recipient's name appears in the official race results)

Re: Merseyside Grand Prix 2017

Merseyside Grand Prix Update - following the Birkenhead Park 5 mile race last week the GP standings have been updated and both the women and men's teams are still in 1st place! 💪👏👏 Some amazing results across the board and in the individual standings too.

Individual and team results so far can be seen here - http://merseysidecountyaa.org.uk/road-running/road-running-grand-prix/

The next race in the grand prix is our own (no club members allowed to enter other than those pre-arranged through the one off ballot) and after that is the Mossley Hill Sefton Park 5 miler. I hear numbers are going like hot cakes for that one so get your entries in - https://mossleyhillacseftonpark5.niftyentries.com/The-Tony-Barnes-Memorial-Sefton-Park-5-Mile-Race

Re: Merseyside Grand Prix 2017

2 races to go in the Merseyside Grand Prix, with the penultimate race at the Halewood 5k this coming Saturday.

Updated results are on the Merseyside AA website following the Mystery 5k on 8th August. Men and women are still in pole position for the team prizes and looks like we will have a few individual prizes also. But, 2 races still left so lots could change! http://merseysidecountyaa.org.uk/road-running/road-running-grand-prix/
