Temperatures tipped the thermometer at 24 degrees, however it didn't stop us Penny Laners!
Thinking of Ste Kelly from Liverpool Running Club who was admitted to hospital after a hip fracture & is currently awaiting an operation. There was initial panic as he was not contactable, nor did he finish, but with the amazing work and perseverance of the running community, he was able to be tracked down in a French hospital.
Wishing and praying for a speedy recovery for Ste and that he gets home safely.

Dreary conditions, redeemed by an Easter egg at the end. Don't know about any other PBs apart from Debi and myself - I've no doubt missed a couple.

Thanks Ste, the wind at about mile 3 was particularly rubbish!
Mine was also a PB but based only on the fact I've never raced 5 miles before.
Chip time a surprise as the clock said 31:42 when I ran through it?

1st M65 for me at Hale. I caught the leading M65 in the last mile. To the naked eye it looked like I was going much faster than him but actually it was just that he was slowing down much faster than me.

Great night for the club with 7/9 PBing and me and Gavin missing out by a couple of seconds.
A fantastic run by Lauren also saw her break the Female club record BRILLIANT!!

Not to mention the organisers altering the chip times numerous times! Like a roller coaster of emotion...

That was annoying my chip time went from the original 16:47 to 16:50 don't know how that works?? I know Debi and James's where more like 10 seconds .... crazy!! Sub 17 at Chrisleton if your doing that!!

61 miles (although my watch got it at just under 60 miles)

5th Lawrence Eccles 12:15 (a minute or two may be added when the official results come out)

It was very very dry underfoot this year. There is probably going to be a hosepipe ban. I was leading until 26 miles or so, but then got a bit of cramp. Also got a blister (although that would hardly slow a good runner). Off the last hill I was in 2nd with a pack of 3 runners about 3 minutes back (so they told me). Sadly my shuffle did not hold them off and they caught and passed me easily and went on to run sub 12 (my goal time). I ended up walking and shuffling to the finish. Nobody else passed. Maybe next year will be my year.

Not a PB for me, PB stays at 22:16

Three laps of Boggart Clough Park in Manchester, with a charity cake competition/sale in aid of George House Trust, the HIV charity. Definitely not a PB course due to a steep hill revisited on every lap (notwithstanding the er, PBs for both Liz and Sarah below) but a very friendly local race with hills and cake.
