Tom Bowler, who was a member of Penny Lane Striders up until his retirement from running in 1998, sadly passed away recently. Although many of us (myself included) weren't at the club with Tom, those who were knew him as an extremely popular and likeable guy, and a Penny Lane Strider through and through.
For anybody wishing to pay their respects, Tom's funeral will take place on Friday 15th September at 10am, with mass at St Mark's Church, Penman Crescent, Halewood, followed by a service at Springwood Crematorium and then back to St Mark's club to raise a glass of Bells in honour of Tom. All are very welcome to attend.
