My 21.51 on Princes parkrun is a new PB, finally beating parkrun no 1 from 2013 (also at Princes) - took until no. 80 to get it. Thanks to all those who have encouraged me over the past couple of months of actual training!

We did the fastest time for the course, bad sadly punched the wrong check-point for 7 of 21. We knew we had made a mistake by Check-point 8 although we had been noticing 'features that it's surprising that they left off the map'. Alarm bells were ringing. We were not where we thought we were. We finished the course anyway. Apparently if we had returned and done the real check point 7, then continued back to 8 we could have stayed in the race. Given we were 30 minutes faster than the eventual winners, we had the time.

Incidentally I gave a friend a lift to the race. Sadly he took ages. His wife contacted me to find out what had happened to him. My reassuring text back, "They're being picked up by car. I'll meet them soon," which I edited before sending, after my friend eventually showed up, to, "They're being picked up by car. I've just met them both," did not reassure the wife.
