The weather was kind this year, but it was good to note the race numbers were waterproof paper this year. The race started with Phillip Langan of Wirral AC taking a big early lead on the road. Once on the beach he appeared to head off to the sea. I wondered if he had knew faster line. We all took our own lines, although it became clear Langan's was the worst as I caught him, along with a few others, by staying to the pebbled route. By the end of the race the results were as above; full results can be seen at: http://www.stevesaunders.co.uk/mt/2018/Summer%20Race/mtchallenge_results_18.pdf/
Prizes were awarded to the following based on the number of entries :-
1st three Overall male and female finishers then (excluding the 1st three finishers)
1st three ladies in the U40, O40 and O50 categories
1st three Men in the U40, O40, O45, O50, O55 and O60 categories.
The above meant I got a prize, as did Oonagh (3rd O40 Female)

A blazing hot bank holiday Monday saw a record field of 183 runners take part in the senior race. It takes place as part of the village festival which is a great day out. The run was quite challenging but conditions were excellent, the route was marked and had good marshalling. I was pleased with my time and would do it again.
Lovely route out of the centre of Edinburgh down to the coast. Well supported at the start & finish, 26 miles and only got 3 shout outs, 2 off the same spectator! Really pleased with my time of 4:04:48, got to thank Jane Nicholson for being my training buddy & Joe Mcglynne for the fantastic advice.
