Being this 1 of the 17 surviving races from the creation of the FRA in April 1970, in pure fellrunning style, the results were out straight away on a stickers' board, but none of us whipper snappers thought of taking a pic of them, so we waited for the slow internet alternative.
On the day, rain stopped just when we were lined up at the start, meaning the ground was saturated and the times high, but silver lining, no one got soaked.
Slips and falls were the order of the day, so everyone had their eyes peeled to the floor, therefore no mountain rescue's helicopter was engaged this time.
This didn't apply to Kathryn, who managed to aggravate her already weaken ankle (cross country being the culprit) around CP1, to the extent that she had to drag herself around the course for the remaining 11 checkpoints.
Those were certainly NOT 50 easy points for her!
As predicated, Lawrence took the gold home for PLS, but a mere 2 places prevent him to take home some extra from the prize ceremony.
All in all, a great day for fell racing, with bells and whistles.
