PLS Committee Update

Dear All,

Just a breif update following last nights Committee meeting:

1. Luke Curtis PLS Chair will be presenting the results of the Club Survey via a webinar. Date to be confirmed

2. In response to requests made by members at the AGM, and club survey findings a summary of all committee meeting minutes will be disseminated to members via email, once the minutes have been agreed (including decisions taken, agreed actions and voting records). The committee also agreed to meet monthly from Jan 2022. This will enable timely responses to our planned events. Minutes from the last AGM will be emailed to members following sign off at our next AGM meeting. The committee has agreed not to post minutes on this forum because it is a public forum. We feel these discussions should be kept within the PLS membership.

3. The committee is exploring ways to improve communication with the whole membership, including those who are unable/do not attend training sessions in person. Luke Curtis (PLS Chair) and Rachel Rick (Women's Capt) are leading a piece of work evaluating Apps. If you would like to be involved or have any ideas you would like to share/think helpful please contact them directly. I will be working with members to explore how we can make better use of our existing platforms ( Forum, PLS Facebook Group, Instagram, Twitter). Please feel free to contact me directly if you would like to be involved. We would also encourage you to use/evalaute our existing means of communication.

4. Our Social Secretary Julien Tour, has a great schedule of events planned, which he will publish shortly. Following the great success of A.S. 5K/Curry night he is focusing on our awards night 26th November 2021. Please contact him directly if you would like to join the social/events team(s) as they emerge.

5. The PLS 10K Committee are in full swing. A confirmed date will be published as soon as possible. Race details and call for volunteers will be published by the race committee.

6. Andrew Biddle (Treasurer) presented an update of the Clubs current financial position. Overall, the club is in a strong financial position. A small surplus was recorded following the A.S.5K/Curry night. It was agreed that this would be given to a local charity (to be decided at the next meeting). The committee also agreed to seek a partner charity for the coming year. Suggestions to be considered at the next meeting. Following a discussion, it was agreed that some of the financial reserve could be invested in future activity (carried forward to next meeting). The committee thanked Andy for his diligence as treasurer.

It was a very busy agenda, and there is alot to look forward to.

The committee welcomes and encourages discussion among our membership, but please be mindful that this is an open forum . PLS members are expected to be respectful of diverse opinions and healthy debate.

Happy running!

Soraya
PLS Club Secretary

Re: PLS Committee Update

Thanks for the update.
If we have extra funds in the pot should we organise a coach trip to a race followed by a pub lunch?
Some members might not want a race but would come & have lunch.
