Re: March Race Results & Reports

Ras yr Aran Fell Race
10 Miles with 3100' Ascent
The hardest 10 miles I have ever done.

The third and final race in the Meirionnydd - Winter Race Series. Although it didn't feel like a winter race with the warm weather, surnburn and dehydration were more of a risk.
After a fair complex race brief about how to avoid certain death by going the wrong way, there was really only one way up and down following the fence line.
The first 4 miles were all up hill after which my legs gave up, I managed to take a tumble on the way down but was saved by the soft grass, also managed to twist my ankle in the last half a mile on the tarmac where the road hadn't been finished properly. Sadly this came too late to blame my poor performance on.

Re: March Race Results & Reports

For some reason these aren't listed (maybe so that they can have a post all to themselves!!) but a couple of runners achieved special times on Sunday in the BTR events -

In the 10-mile race SEAN JONES finished 3rd overall, in a time of 54:55, taking almost a minute off a PB he set for the distance at Preston last November

In the half-marathon, our first runner home was LIAM ELLIS. Liam finished in 1:23:40. He puts it down to the new vest and has been selected for every PLS relay team until 2025 on the strength of this superb start to his career as a Strider

Well done guys, and to everyone who run across both races

Re: March Race Results & Reports

Wow - great running !! How do these performances compare to the best PLS times recorded for these distances ? ( not sure where the historical records are kept !)

Re: March Race Results & Reports

I was referring to the results from Sean Jones and Liam Ellis - fantastic times

Re: March Race Results & Reports

They're on the PLS website. Go to Competing and then scroll down to Records
