1st Lawrence Eccles 37:18

A warm evening for perhaps the hardest 5k in Wales. It was a slight surprise to win as legs felt like lead before the race start, but I found a rhythm for the race and managed to win the to and fro race on the mile downhill from the summit by 3 seconds. Last year the same guy beat me into second place by a similar margin. I feared history was going to repeat itself, but alas it didn't and I won.

I was somewhat off the pace, but all good fun still. The route runs out by a small gritstone edge and comes back by big ones; The Roaches and Hen Cloud, both of which are popular with climbers. The race is only £7, but the carpark costs £5! I parked on the road as had done some Google research last night.

A very wet start as it rained for the first few miles. Some off the path turned into streams. A relatively low turn out for PLS as entries sold out quickly, numbers were capped at 125 with only 100 running.
