The conditions were not as bad as I feared. We actually got wind assisted along the ridge to CP3. I was grateful not to be heading the other way. The slick top wasn't as slippy as it has been in the past and the fields were not in the heavy mud stage yet. The post race soup, tea, coffee and cake was better than I remembered. Also the rain was infrequent so it wasn't unpleasant to stand outside having soup and bread while waiting for people to finish. Confusement started soon after as runners were finishing from the wrong direction; including Alice. It seems we need to work on our navigation training for future races. We all got prizes, except Dipple; but he enjoyed himself. Hopefully next year's race doesn't clash with XC. Also we got second team which I'm sure we could improve upon without the date clash.
