This years race saw an improved turn out to last year. Maybe enticed by prospect of a pie and pint at the end. On the way to the start Terry found a race tag on the floor and kindly handed it in to the race organiser, as no race tag = no time. Turns out it was Dipple’s which could be crucial in the OR Championship standings. The blame for this was put on Lawrence due to the overly aggressive trimming of the cable ties attaching the race tag to save every gram of weight.

It was a dam start accompanied by the sound of a bag piper. The cobbles up to the pike were hard going, the rain was also more intense at the top due to the exposure. I was please that I'd worn a base layer. There were some fast descents on the way down which are the most enjoyable part of the race.

We all went the pub afterwards, the race blogger Olga recognised some of our famous fell runners and did some interviews which can be found on YouTube.
