Marathon Plan

I am following Coach Tim's Marathon Plan (Group 4 version).

This is my 2nd week back from a fairly lengthy injury lay off. However I have done PLS sessions last week and this and the injury is fine.

The Marathon Plan asks for the weekend long run to be 12 miles. Any advice on whether I should attempt this? If so, how...in terms of pace etc? If not, what should I realistically aim to do this weekend?

I am thinking of doing 8 and see how I feel on the day in terms of extending this. However, this is based purely on a hunch. Be happy to hear from fellow Striders who can speak from experience.

Grae,if you are only attempting 8 miles this weekend,consider whether you will be 'racing ' fit in time for marathon.
Why not give yourself more time aim for spring marathon ?
