Not sure if Andy's was a pb. Weather beautiful, road generally free of potholes, small tshirt is massive. Missed out on a prize by 6 sec gun time although the chip time is faster. Serves me right for not starting nearer the front. Met Karen Leslie's dad, who is a lovely man. Another lovely man told me we were heading for sub-35 when I was beyond adding up and gave me the confidence of giving it a good go, wish I could remember which club he was from. My lovely go faster shoes still have a job but the shoelaces are sacked. Right. I think even Dave Cain would be proud of the commentary by now.
Not for me Cristina. My race report is as follows. Lovely sunny day, race was well organised but felt like there was at least 100 too many runners for the course and surrounding facilities. Pancake flat course.
I learned that a chippy tea the night before is a valid nutrition strategy (carb loading) and I have the reaction times of a fighter pilot when it comes to jumping over a fallen runner in the mass at the start.
I too just missed a prize (about 11 minutes) so was disappointed with that!
Karen's feedback
Not enough seating to eat pancakes whilst the race was taking place. The pancake was good though.

This course was one lap round a lake on a surface of very fine gravel. The Formula 1 Grand Prix is actually staged on the road in and around this park. Luckily, with the start being 8:00 a.m., the temperature was only 26 degrees.

Yes we are now back home, the weather was very windy and about 6 degrees (very cold to us). We were lucky that the rain started when we were having our after race tea in the sports centre.

There's a formula on the Wrexham site to work out the time it would have taken to run 13.1 miles. Mine came out as 1:41:30…..don't know if this counts for anything but it sounds more respectable
Emma, apologies for any egg sucking and the teaching there of but I think the majority who ran the race the 'wrong' way ran around 13.9 miles so just enter your time into a pace calculator with that distance
http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/4/4_1/96.shtml
then change the distance to half marathon and you'll get a more accurate time
your 1:46:37 comes out as 1:40:33
Lawrence's is still rubbish though, wasted to much energy snotting me at Parbold the day before

Great times. I had meant to run this race, but got locked in the Endurance store car park. unfortunately I was giving Cristina a lift so she did not make the race either. I have now spent my Endurance store vouchers at least.
We did get to the race and joined in the second lap, so it was Cristina that you saw and not an hallucination. I was just about to run Nigel down, but got side tracked.
The Endurance store is fine. I got socks and food. They have a lot of the specialist kit for ultras which is not available in shops in Liverpool.

There were 133 entries but, presumably because of the very stormy conditions, there were only 104 finishers. This race included the British Masters 10 mile race and the winner did 55:17 (last year's winner did 52:00). Very good buffet afterwards. David marshaled at one of the windiest spots where there seemed to be a tornado going on.
Massive well done to Sue Cain, Neil Kelly and Rob Hardwick great result's for you guys this week end.
As highlighted the rain and wind was horendous on Sunday so, big pat on the back to all the other striders who managed to run/shuffle along in races on the coast, in parks, in woods, up valleys or down dale.
