Please be aware, this race, next in the MTCT calendar, has now been moved to Sat 24th Jan 2015!

Same day of the NE XC champs, but seen that this yr they are in far far west yorkshire, I believe this is the BEST alternative!
needless to say also, you earn points for the trophy..
Ciao
Simo
ps. could we change the name "multi terrain challenge trophy"?
it's way too much of a mouthful!
"off road champs" maybe?
food for thought..
yes, forget mine, I'd go for the total wipeout :-D
I also just remembered..
One more reason we could do with another name is that people still come up to me and ask: isn't the MTCT in september?
and I have to explain that's another multi terrain thing...
Can you see the confusion?
Just bringing this back to the top. 3 weeks until this event, the 13th race (first of the last 3 races for 2014-15) of the MTCT (multi-terrain Challenge Trophy).
Entry on the day of £4, starts at 12.30pm
9.5km (5.9m), BS
Prince William Inn, Beacon Lane, Dalton, nr Skelmersdale, WN8 7RU
Would be good preparation for the following weeks cross country at Beacon Park (I believe the two races are in the same area??).
The two start points are half mile apart...
And if you consider that Parbold Hill and Ashurst beacon's routes cross each other, there you have 3 races in 3 wks in the same place!
Reminds me of something, it might not be that original after all.... ;-D
A replica Lawrence Eccles kamikaze racing bandana as an award, along with a firm handshake and a book of Eccles pre-race excuses and whimsical put downs...
"I've just done a 72 hour trek through the Andes, I've got yellow fever and a pulled calf, so you should beat me on this one"...said right before an Eccles shaped dust cloud zooms off into the distance never to be seen again
it's a good shout Simo but the big man won then didn't run in a county vest, choosing the Chomolungma mountain race (8,848 m of climb) where he informed me he could have finished top 10 if he hadn't stopped to climb an almost impossible to achieve precipice in order to retrieve his pipe...he returned 2 days later to beat me at the Merseyvend 5k

Put me down as a ?, as it depends if the other half wants to come with the dog! If you get more solid offers let them have the lift I'll make my own way there.
Also, what's the course like shoe-wise? Will trail shoes do or do you recommend studs?
Just a reminder that this race is tomorrow if anyone is still interested / wants an excuse to get out of the house / away from the other half for a few hours!
£4 entry on the day, meet Garston 11am if you want to car share (look out for a flambouyant Italian).
A bit last minute but...
If you're coming down to Garston this morning, be aware I'll be shooting off at 11 sharp!
I just realised it's saturday morning on the roads :-O
