I had a poor climb from the Pen y Pass to Snowdon. Photos have shown I was walking. I felt like there was no fuel in the tank. Was fine when I finished and the jog down to Llanberis was easy.

3000M Trafford Grand Prix


By far the hottest conditions I’ve ever ran in. I managed a 10 min warm up in the shade and was p*ssing wet with sweat, just putting my spikes on I thought I was going to pass out!

Regardless of the heat, I was still determined to run 77-78 sec laps and blasted off to find myself leading the C race after 100m. I was still leading through the 1st km 3.13 and feeling ok, the home straight was windy and in the shade.

2nd km I was 6:34 – slowing but still leading - the lungs were starting to burn and it felt like someone had a hair drier stuffed down my throat. I was slowing and with 400 to go some fella blasted past me and I had nothing to offer. The last km was 3:27 for a 2nd place but 10:01 – the winner was 9:54.

As usual I really enjoyed the race, disappointed not to see the victory through and get under 10 mins but a good laugh.
