Our 30th Anniversary Handicap Relay will take place on Saturday 26th September in Sefton Park. Our HQ will be Aigburth Peoples Hall and we would love to see as many members as possible taking part in what should be a really fun event.
Please sign up as soon as possible by 'joining' this event on Facebook or commenting on this Forum post. Spread the word and encourage your fellow Striders to take part too!
We will be starting from scratch and creating teams from the members who sign up - this way, newer members will get the chance to meet their clubmates and to work together in the spirit of friendly competition. More details nearer the time, but there will definitely be cake involved!
Hi everyone, the date for our Handicap Relay is fast approaching, and we would like to see as many members as possible taking part.
The venue for the relay itself has been changed to Princes Park, to avoid clashing with another event. After the relay, there will be a free buffet at Aigburth People's Hall to which everyone is invited.
We need a minimum of 50 people to make this event viable (because of numbers required for the buffet). Please join in, and encourage your clubmates to do so too!
Please comment below or on our Facebook page to let us know you're coming - this will give us time to arrange the relay teams. Please spread the word!
On this day I will be unable to commit to running in the event but I will be along to help and support with Phoebe. If anybody is in a childcare predicament that is stopping them from running, bring them along!!! I will bring some ball games and other outdoor things to occupy the young ones. We could even do some mini-relays? I'm sure some of the bakers can sort a few cupcakes out!!!
Great stuff everyone, get signed up and go for it!!!
I'll be putting the teams together for this event over the next few days and will post them here as well as on Facebook. More details about the arrangements to follow too - watch this space!
Thanks again for the great response, it should be a really fun event.

Sterling job Clare and the rest of the crew who organised it....
Team handicap ROCKS!

A huge thank you to everyone who supported this event in any way, and to Dale who came up with the original idea. It was great fun - sorry about the hill though!
