Salford 10k

My review - cheap if booked through the early bird, quite flat with a couple of bridges over the quay towards the end that weren't pleasant and a dead stop round a cone at 9k that really didn't help to keep moving forward! Some interesting bits with decent support around Media City and the concourse of a Old Trafford but some pretty uninspiring bits around industrial areas of Salford.

Most of the race is on good tracks. There were a few muddy patches and tree roots to test concentration and a few ups and downs. There is a notable hill (some say mountain) at the end of the race which is a challenge to run up.

Ideal weather conditions for this race, an absolute cracker!

Casualties of the day:
- Andy K, who fell and cut his knee and scalp, but still finished and managed a chat and a laugh before leisurely going to get himself sorted at the medical tent..iron man
- my car, thanks to the marshal (NOT) who made me move for no apparent reason and I ended up stuck in the mud! got towed out eventually

Paris Versailles 10 miler

A great race which starts at the Eiffel Tower and finishes at the Palace of Versailles. The route takes you along the Seine and out of the city and through the forest of Meudon but only after a steep hill over a mile long!! Lots of downhill through the forest onto a lovely finish on the Avenue de Paris right in front of the Palace. Highly recommend!

Spartathlon, 153 miles (and it is on road)
