December race results

Stockport 10 mile race - Sunday 6th of December

A fantastic race with a little bit of everything. A track start and finish, hills, off road sections, housing estates, parks, unclosed roads, downpours and massive puddles. The organisation and marshalling was first rate.

Low turnout on a foul winter's morning. Due to incoming tide, the promenade stretch was extended but rather than fast, flat tarmac it turned out to be an extension of the sand dunes that ran parallel. Very tough.

It was a very wet day with large parts of the course under water. There was a knee deep stream that had to be crossed three times. Pleased that the race went ahead as I had driven up to Leyland to do it.
