Re: So What Was Your Costume at the Halloween Party Chat?
I love this annual tradition and the fun filled evening we share. It was yet another great chat with clever costumes, while watching a classic Oland film together!
I was Art (Arthur) Mayo, most commonly known as Tarneverro (Bela Lugosi) from The Black Camel. I tried to get clever this year :-)
Re: So What Was Your Costume at the Halloween Party Chat?
Der RCF,
Well, I think that most everyone realized that I was virtually costumed as Baxter the butler from "Charlie Chan's Secret."
We had a GREAT turnout, by the way, for those who could not make it. In fact, we had a near record total of about 20, with the comings and goings throughout the evening!
Thank you (so much!) to everyone who made this year's annual Charlie Chan Family Halloween Party perhaps the most fun night of the year!
Re: So What Was Your Costume at the Halloween Party Chat?
Dear JaninPenna,
Yes, our chat dialogue is only viewable at the time of the chat. Sadly, we cannot archive it. On Monday night, we will be watching "Charlie Chan at the Race Track." It should be a very fun evening, too, as we will be celebrating tha runnung of the Melbourne Cup horse race as seen in the film!
Re: So What Was Your Costume at the Halloween Party Chat?
The Halloween Chan Chat was an entertaining event, in deed. I came as Jessop, the butler, as played by Dwight Frye, in the film "The Black Camel" (1931). I tried to stay in character as a high-society servant to a rich-and-famous Hollywood movie star. Hawaii_Steve (in character): "People, people, dinner is serrrr-ved." BYW, the film was shot in Honolulu, where I just happen to live.
Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to read my first Biggers' Chan novel, "The Black Camel" (1929). So the CAMEL is on my mind.
