Thank you, Virginia. On this infamous day may we all consider the great sacrifice that so many made then as well as today. The phrase "Freedom is not free" is so true. The cost is often very dear.
This morning I attended events at the World War II Valour in the Pacific National Monument at Pearl Harbor. This is one of the most amazing historic places to visit in the United States. The place was packed with visitors and locals alike.
At 7:55 a.m. (Hawaii time), military jets flew over the Arizona memorial. In 1941, 7:55 a.m. was the time when the Japanese attacked US personnel stationed at Pearl Harbor.
On this date today, the 70th anniversary of the attack at Pearl Harbor, is more moving than ever. A number of survivors from the USS Arizona, and other US ships, were in attendance. Plus media (radio & television) from around the world.
When in Hawaii, take a moment and show your respect to the "greatest generation" by visiting the WW2 Valour in the Pacific National Monument.
