Our Monday Evening Chat/Film Viewing: "Charlie Chan at the Olympics"
Pausing for a moment on our journey through the entire Charlie Chan film series while we pay a visit to the 2012 Olympic Games, our film for this week's Monday Evening Chat and Film Viewing will be "Charlie Chan at trhe Olympics," starring Warner Oland. The 1936 Berlin Olympics, where much of the action of our adventure takes place, would be the final Games until three years after the ending of the Second World War. Consequently and interestingly, the first Olympic Games after those in Berlin were held in London in 1948, which happens to be the current venue for this year’s Games.
Our weekly Monday Evening Chat begins, as always, right here at our Charlie Chan family Home with arrivals and greetings. Using any of the "Chat Room" links to join us, we start our festivities at at 8:00 p.m., Eastern Daylight Time. Thirty minutes later, we begin rolling our personal copies of "Charlie Chan at the Olympics." (If you lack your own copy of this film, it MAY be available online, but of late, most Chan films have been removed from that source due to copyright issues.) This allows us to enjoy and share the film together. So, have a happy Monday, and let's gather together for yet another Chan-filled Monday night, shall we?
