THIS WEEK: We celebrate the birthday of BORIS KARLOFF, who appeared as a co-star with Warner Oland, in “Charlie Chan at the Opera,” and was also in that “other” Charlie Chan film, “Behind That Curtain,” from 1929.

FEATURE SUMMARY: Simon Dayton is in fear for his life and seeks the help of Mr. Wong to protect him. Prior to meeting Mr. Wong, Dayton is found dead in his office in San Francisco. Several witnesses testify that Dayton was alone in his office that had been locked from the inside. While the police view Dayton's death as due to a heart attack, Mr. Wong discovers a piece of broken glass which may offer another possibility.
FEATURE NOTES: “Mr. Wong, Detective” provided the basis for the Charlie Chan movie, “Docks of New Orleans” a decade later.
