Is Hustling Through College Slowly Destroying Our Mental Health?

I've been thinking a lot about the culture at places like UCLA and NYU, where students brag about juggling three internships, a full course load, and 20-hour study marathons. Sometimes it feels like there’s an invisible leaderboard no one asked for. How do others cope when exhaustion hits harder than motivation? Is constant hustle really the only path to success, or are we just being told that to make it feel legitimate?

Re: Is Hustling Through College Slowly Destroying Our Mental Health?

Honestly, I’ve been there more times than I can count. Last semester, I had to pay for my assignment just to keep up, because between lab reports, Econ 101, and a part-time job in Boston, sleep became a myth. I found an essay writer for hire who understood my style and deadlines, and it wasn’t about cheating; it was survival. I even learned that I could buy cheap essay papers responsibly, not to slack off, but to stay afloat and still focus on classes where I actually needed to learn. It made me rethink the whole "grind equals character" idea. By taking help strategically, I didn’t feel guilty, I felt smart. Some professors like Dr. Angela Duckworth preach grit, but in real life, grit sometimes means knowing when to outsource intelligently, not drowning in a pile of unread textbooks.
