40th Lawrence Eccles

It was rather British conditions that this year's race was run in (cloud and drizzle with muddy paths). Perhaps as a consequence 3 British runners made the top 10. Sadly I was not one of them. I started conservatively and hoped to pick up lots of places in the second half. That is not quite how it went, but I did move through the field for the whole race. It would be a hard races in hot weather.

Possibly the hardest race to date for me, made harder by running 4 extra miles near the end, due to lack of direction arrows and map reading skills.

Notheless I enjoyed it, had to sprint to the line to keep my podium spot, but hey, that's what it's all about anyway

Another positive note: it was a wet cold and windy, perfect conditions for ultra trail racing

A very wet but excellently organised Wigan 10k comes highly recommended although the course was testing especially over the closing 2k.
