There was a lower turn out this year (55) than the previous year which caused some slight concern at the start as last year the course was sparsely marked. The organiser assured us it had been marked better this year. Soon after we started we were passed by Joel Gomez running at break neck speed the opposite way. It seems Joel had missed the started, he passed me fairly early on and still ended up finishing 4th.

The weather was perfect for an evening run around Moel Famau, clear blue skies and a light breeze. The course was mix of fern yomping, the Offa’s **** and steep decent off Moel Dywyll. I managed to find the right line down this year which saved me a lot of time on the decent.

The pub said they weren’t doing food, but after some Terry charm we were offered 4 curries.
Lenka finished 3rd Woman and picked up a head torch for her efforts.

It was a wet race and there had been a lot of rain in the days leading up to the race prompting much discussion over what footwear to use. On the drive up there we were diverted by google off the m57 maybe because of the rain through the country lanes to Parbold, some of the fields had small lakes in them which gave a good indication the fields in race would be boggy, I and some of the other went with maximum grip which turned out to be a good choice as the route was like a like a cross country course in parts.

We didn't get food in the pub as you had to pre order and we hadn't, a lesson learnt for next time. The next race is at the earlier time of 7pm.
