The Ceiriog Canter made a welcome return to the Penny Lane off road championship. The weather was less welcome with heavy rain and low cloud. The water was running off the hill down the footpath we ran up to start. The rain did conveniently stop as the race started, but many runners still opted to wear a coat. I led early on, but was soon passed and left for dead. Post race there was a raffle in the community hall. They also had homemade cakes and drinks at a reasonable price. Hopefully next year the weather is more inviting (and more Penny Lane Striders are inclined to turn up)
