All 4 relay legs follow the same flagged route. It is not unheard of for one runner to run all four legs. This year the winning team was helped to victory by their top runner doubling up and running two legs back to back. My team, made up of a Chorlton runner, me (Penny Lane), Dark Peak and unattached (it was meant to be Dave Riding, younger brother of Phil Riding, who is a member of Achille Ratti; but he was replaced by Dave Ryder of no fixed club). The relay has a good setup with parking close to the park where the race starts. There's a local café and Pete Blands sports shop van was there for the day. Full results at UKresults.net

The weather was mainly dry, but very windy and slippy underfoot. This race is usually the last weekend in October but was moved to the 12th Nov for some reason so there was minutes silence for remembrance day. I believe next year the race will be back to the last weekend in October which should clash with xc. There was free butter nut squash soup in the village hall for all runners. The Beast of Bowland also ran.
