I was only 22 years old, living in Calgary Alberta with my brother when I fell in love with your music. I wrote you a handwritten letter and was so happy to get a reply from you along with signed photo. My brother and I followed you around Canada for the next 2 years while you weee on tour. It was the release of your first album. We made friends with some of your roadies and even got on your tour bus once.
It was a grand time to be alive and the memories will be with me forever. Hope you are well and happy.

Hello Alanna! I want to tell you an unusual and
slightly comical story. The series \"Sweet Pea\" was recently released; in the second episode, a drunk character sings a song at karaoke, just a few seconds, it was very difficult to make out the words, but the melody was very familiar to me. I tried to find this song in different ways: Shazamiled, tried to make out the words, but nothing helped. As a result, I found a rhythm library website where you can search for a song by rhythm.
I did just that, beat out the rhythm on the keyboard and the name of your song Black Velvet appeared on the website. I\'m very glad that after two days of searching I found this! When even our doctors, family, rheumatoligist, friends and colleagues cannot seem to know what to do, what to say, how to support us, we get up, put our pants on and greet the day. No matter what that day brings. Music, prayer and finding joy are things that kept me going through the dark and the light. Keep plowing through it all Canadian sister!

Hi Alannah,
I don\'t know why but somehow I always end up listening to all of your albums around christmas. Maybe it\'s because I always remember your birthday since it\'s my mom\'s birthday as well, who knows. Anyway, I wanted to send you a big fat THANK YOU for being you and having stepped out there in the world of music. You are still by far one of my alltime favorite musicians and I got a big fat smile on my face today because of you. Unfortunately, because things got so expensive here in Germany, I had to move in with my brother and other people who are quite hard to deal with sometimes. I don\'t know why exactly, but somehow I found it extremely hard to practice singing when they were at home but I definitely didn\'t want that to ruin the joy I get from making music. A few weeks ago, it kind of turned into a habit that I put on one of your songs before singing, turned it VERY loud and did one particular breathing kriya (kriyas are basically parts of kundalini yoga sessions, I love it) all the way through it. After those three to six minutes I always felt super empowered, like I awakened an unshakable energy within myself. So thank you so very much for being part of that experience!
